RESPONSIBILITIES

SUMMARY

The Lead Data Risk Analyst role reports into the Data Risk department. The primary purpose of this position is to support the execution of the Data Governance Strategy and Standard as well as regulatory compliance as it pertains to personal information and privacy. The ideal candidate will have strong systems, technical and organizational skills, as well as a detailed understanding of facilitating the implementation of data privacy and protection standards. This position plays a critical role in the success of compliance with Data Privacy regulations, including co-ordination with Information Security and Data Management teams. This role will have project, privacy and data governance responsibilities as outlined below:

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

We are looking for a driven, intellectually curious individual with interest and experience data governance tooling for the purpose of managing governance, specialized in data privacy, in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct a thorough assessment of privacy program requirements, priorities and opportunities in order to visualize, create, and execute data risk aspects of the privacy program including NPI identification and managing a centralized repository
  • Experience and familiarity with Data Architecture and Data Modeling best practices
  • Support the development of a business outcome-oriented data governance repository in conjunction with the Data Management team.
  • Execute and support cross-functional projects with stakeholders from Legal, Compliance, Information Security, IT and other functions and businesses related to privacy
  • Relationship build with Technology and other business teams, data profiling, ad hoc analysis and key performance indicators
  • Keep abreast of Privacy related regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes in order to further identify new key risk areas and technical solutions to enable business.
  • Understand data protection principles and concepts of privacy compliance; including industry knowledge of implementing controls within processes and tools
  • Consult on Data Risk related matters across the first line of defense business partners providing sound advice and guidance
  • Assess systems and data and apply appropriate records classification.
  • Ensure processes support ability to maintain an accurate and up-to-date data inventory.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS

Basic

  • 4+ years’ experience in privacy preferably in the financial services industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Management Information Systems or Computer Engineering
  • 4+ years’ experience working with U.S. Privacy and Data Protection laws and regulations
  • 4+ years’ experience working with data governance repositories

Preferred

  • Understanding and working experience with compliance guidelines and regulations such as GDPR and CCPA
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple matters.
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
  • Experience developing and tracking against detailed project plans
  • Understanding and experience with data lineage, governance and management
  • Experience and knowledge of GDPR and other International Privacy Laws preferred
  • Experience with program leadership, governance and change enablement
  • Motivated and fast in solving problems and learning new tools
  • Proven track record of strong verbal/written communication & data presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint), including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
