SUMMARY

The Principal, Payment Services Operations role is to lead a series of data based analyses that will eliminate payment processing errors, strengthen preventative and detective controls, and raise Payment Services team productivity and effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Principal will be responsible for investigating and analyzing the flow of payment transactional data received and delivered to our payment vendors, the Fed, agent banks, and brokerage entities that clear payment transactions through the Bank.  This includes reconciling customer payment transaction activity posted to the bank and brokerage books and records platforms, identifying and resolving potential breaks, balancing general ledger and clearing accounts, and validating settlement transactions.  The Principal will work with Payment Services management to replace 10% daily review of manual entries with more comprehensive, data driven, and systematic review and verification methods. 

The Principal will help identify and execute improvement projects including:

• Examine and reengineer processes that require manual journal entries
• Automate settlement entries with third parties and with MS brokerage entities
• Identify client illogical instructions / elections (e.g. sweeps)
• Harmonize payment processes / logic across ETB & ETS payments
• Convert ETB and ETSB into MSPBNA (Project Unity)
• Convert brokerage accounts / payment activity from Broadridge to MS Libra
• Apply Robotic Process Automation to routine processes where appropriate

In addition, the Principal will train others in the organization and build a bench of strength that can assist with the priorities listed above and other priorities that come up.  The Principal will be an expert that others rely on for help with data analytics, automation, and re-engineering challenges.
