We are a seeking highly driven, Software Engineer possessing strong technical and analytic skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a real-time environment where one can make immediate contributions.

This individual will assist with the development and technical analysis of existing software stack as well as the build out of strategic initiatives. Projects will be highly technical in nature and will focus on the areas of Order Routing, Regulatory Reporting, Order Management, Market Data and Reference Data services.

Additionally, this position will work closely with various product owners to understand the priority of business initiatives and with various scrum teams to remove blockers/impediments and drive increased team velocity. A key component to success in this role is to develop relationships across the organization, including Technology, Product Management, and other functional areas, in order to influence teams to ensure high priority requirements are appropriately detailed and prioritized to be worked on by the team(s).

• Requires the proficiency to dive deep into the technology in order to analyze and document existing functionality within the current service offerings that fully captures requirements targeting strategic initiatives
• Effectively work with Business and Leadership in the PMO, Development, Product Management, Business and Technical Operations, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, Networks and Architecture teams
• Familiarity with multi-threading and networking protocols (TCP/IP, Multicast preferred)
• Partner and build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders to achieve organizational goals, including Technology Development, UX/Design, Marketing, Education, Service, Operations, Quality Assurance, Order Management, Risk, Compliance, Legal, executive leadership, third-party vendors, and other product owners & teams
• Acquire a robust understanding of E*TRADE products, services, processes, and organizational structure in order to find optimal solutions and achieve rapid execution of key initiatives
• Maintain awareness of industry trends, compliance concerns, risk control processes, and regulatory landscape
• Draft and review architectural diagrams, specifications, business requirements as well as various design documents
• Work with our existing technology stack (Java, C++, Linux, Unix, Open Source Platforms, and SOA) as well as new technologies for our next generation solutions
• Create project documents and requirements (presentations, user stories, migration plans, communication plans)
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt course as issues arise to meet aggressive timelines
• Assist with the development of the testing strategy
• Identify project interdependencies and communicate requirement/scope issues and participate in driving them to resolution for inclusion in system requirements
